Senior Financial Controller

We’re seeking a Senior Financial Controller to take ownership of our finance operations and ensure the company remains in sound financial shape as we scale. In the context of a SaaS business, this means overseeing everything from revenue recognition and audit readiness to financial closes, tax filings, and internal controls. You’ll play a pivotal role in building lean, efficient systems while maintaining precision and accountability across all reporting and compliance processes.

This role anchors itself in three critical metrics: accuracy, speed, and control. How quickly the books close, how clean the audits are, and how precisely subscription revenue is tracked-all of these rest in your hands.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations (general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and asset management)
• Own the financial close process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold a strong internal control framework
• Manage revenue recognition, especially across recurring subscriptions and billing processes
• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain audit readiness
• Drive continuous improvement in financial procedures, systems, and controls
• Handle corporate tax filings and liaise with external advisors as needed
• Support the Head of Finance with treasury and long-term financial planning
• Mentor and guide accounting team members in a fast-moving environment

What You Bring

• 10+ years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally in tech or SaaS
• Solid knowledge of revenue recognition principles and subscription models
• Extensive knowledge of Dutch financial laws
• Demonstrated success leading audits and building internal financial controls
• Familiarity with ERP and billing platforms (specific tools a plus)
